Top Muslim cleric Mufti Menk of Zimbabwe who is on a tour of Nigeria on Tuesday met with the governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima.
Borno located in northeastern Nigeria is the birthplace of insurgent group Boko Haram. Menk met with the governor and other leaders of government.
Before Borno, he had visited the commercial city of Lagos before flying up north to the ancient city of Kano where he delivered a well-attended lecture. Whiles in Kano, he met with Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.
He is also scheduled to deliver a lecture at a local mosque later today. He has in the last few weeks been to The Gambia.
