Cameroon’s main opposition leader, John Fru Ndi, has given backing to armed separatists pushing for independence from French-majority Cameroon.
The separatists are fighting for the realization of the so-called Ambazonia Republic. Fru Ndi is quoted in local press to have said: “If I were young, I will be in the bush fighting.”
He also commented about mass deaths in the town of Menka weeks ago. “The government of Cameroon has not told the truth about the massacre in Menka…
“The soldiers eliminated everyone involved for fear of being exposed… The Menka incident was a planned act by the regime. President Biya will pay for crimes against humanity…” John Fru Ndi added.
