Malian ‘spider-man’ rescues baby off Paris balcony: Gets job, French citizenship

The international media has been replete since Sunday of a report about how a baby hanging from a Paris balcony was rescued by a previously unknown illegal migrant from Mali.

Within hours, 22-year-old Mamoudou Gassama has seen a drastic change in his life and as at Monday morning, he was chatting with French president Emmanuel Macron having earlier spoken by phone with Mayor of Paris.

The president announced after the meeting at the Elysee Palace that the Paris Fire Brigade was ready to offer him a job and that he (Macron) will support his bid to get French citizenship.

But in the midst of all this, despite, being the center of social media praise for how swiftly he climbed up four storey building in about 30 seconds, he puts it down to the help of God and that God saved the child.
