Two top Kenyan athletes met on Tuesday in London where one plies his football trade and the other recently won the prestigious London Marathon.
Eliud Kipchoge won his third London Marathon during the 2018 edition of the event held last Sunday. Yet to leave the city of London, he visited fellow Kenyan Victor Wanyama who plays for Tottenham Hotspurs.
The pair were shown in photos shared by Wanyama at Spurs training ground, where Kipchoge also had the honour of meeting with coach Pochettino.
Whiles the marathoner beat off competition from Ethiopia’s Tola Kitata and United Kingdom’s Mo Farah who finished second and third respectively. Spurs had a bad result over the weekend losing an FA Cup semi-final to Manchester United.
Kipchoge took a break from the London Marathon last year after winning it for two years in a row, between 2015 and 2016.
He sacrificed London for an Italian Marathon where he tried to run sub-two-hours. His time of 02:04:17 was just two-and-a-half minutes off Dennis Kimmetto’s world record.
