Buhari is in the United Kingdom on a working visit and is also set to attend the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of State and Government summit later this month.

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria on Wednesday met with Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, in London.

Buhari is in the United Kingdom on a working visit and is also set to attend the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of State and Government summit later this month.

Welby was accompanied by Secretary General Worldwide of Anglican Communion, and former Archbishop of Kaduna, Josiah Idowu-Fearon. Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the UK, Rtd Justice George Oguntade was also present.

‘Honour to meet Nigerian President Buhari in London today. I offered support in seeking a sustainable solution to the herder-farmer conflict, and urged the President to secure 14-year-old Christian Leah Sharibu’s release fromBoko Haram,’ Welby wrote on Twitter after the meeting. He also presented Buhari with a book he had authored.
